Czech Student Visa & Health Insurance: Guide for Pakistan
Applying from Pakistan to study in Czechia? Understand Islamabad embassy appointments, study documents and when to arrange compliant medical insurance.

Before you act: This guide is informational. Official immigration rules, insurer terms and coverage eligibility may change. Verify current details with the relevant Czech authority and the insurer.
GUIDE 1 / 4
Start with your acceptance and the correct study route
- Have your university admission or enrolment confirmation ready. A study visa and a long-term residence permit for studies are different procedures; the correct route depends on your programme and circumstances.
- Check the Czech Embassy in Islamabad study requirements and the Ministry of the Interior instructions before collecting paperwork. Some language or preparatory programmes may use a different legal purpose of stay.
- The embassy requests originals or certified copies and a set of copies. Certain documents need official Czech translations; check current authentication rules for Pakistan-issued documents.
GUIDE 2 / 4
Book your appointment directly with the embassy
- The Czech Embassy in Islamabad publishes a separate registration procedure for long-term study visa and residence appointments. Registration windows, required email details and available slots can change. Use its official Appointments page to confirm current instructions.
- Appointment requests are free. The embassy explicitly warns that it does not cooperate with third-party appointment sellers. Avoid unofficial agents promising guaranteed slots.
- Prepare proof of accommodation and financial means according to the application type, as well as any criminal-record documents and translations the embassy requires.
GUIDE 3 / 4
When should you buy health insurance?
- The Islamabad embassy lists travel medical insurance following a positive decision on a study residence application. Do not assume you must pay for a full policy before your application appointment; verify the instructions for your specific route.
- For applicable long-term private medical insurance, Czech requirements generally call for comprehensive cover with a minimum EUR 400,000 limit per insured event and no deductible. Exceptions apply if you qualify for Czech public insurance or another recognised arrangement.
- For certain applications lodged abroad, official rules allow emergency and essential cover for the first 90 days together with comprehensive cover for the remaining stay, or comprehensive cover for the full period. Check the precise documents and timing requested by the embassy.
- Match the policy start and end dates to your visa or residence needs. Confirm whether the embassy requests proof of payment or further documents before collecting your visa.

Choose and verify your student insurance
- Use the Slavia Health Care student calculator to estimate a price. The official Slavia application confirms the final price, coverage terms and eligibility for the student product.
- Check policy scope, exclusions, assistance contacts and whether the documents satisfy your actual immigration route. Being admitted to university does not by itself guarantee eligibility for a particular discounted insurance product.
- Keep digital and printable copies of your policy and the embassy correspondence. For questions about visa eligibility or document acceptance, the Czech authorities are the definitive source.
