Cancelling comprehensive insurance
What to do when you need to end or change your health insurance

Before you act: This guide is informational. Official immigration rules, insurer terms and coverage eligibility may change. Verify current details with the relevant Czech authority and the insurer.
GUIDE 1 / 3
Check permitted cancellation grounds
- Not all changes of plans automatically permit cancellation or a refund. The exact conditions depend on your contract and applicable law.
- Visa rejection, transition into Czech public insurance or replacement by another contract can be reasons to discuss with Slavia.
- Do not allow a gap in cover while waiting for a decision.
GUIDE 2 / 3
Prepare official documentation
- Ask for the current insurer cancellation form and the instructions for submitting it.
- Include your policy number, intended reason and the evidence the insurer requests.
- Do not send sensitive identity or medical documents through a general website form.
GUIDE 3 / 3
Confirm your outcome
- The insurer decides whether the policy can end, the effective date and any refund under the applicable conditions.
- Keep the written outcome and any replacement insurance documents.
- If moving into public health insurance, verify the effective coverage date.
Practical action guide
Before requesting cancellation
The insurer determines whether termination or withdrawal is possible under your policy and applicable law. Do not assume that leaving Czechia automatically cancels your cover.
Progress is saved on this device only. It is not sent to SHC or the insurer.
Important: Cancellation grounds, statutory deadlines and refund amounts vary by circumstances. Verify the actual conditions directly with Slavia.
Ready to contact Slavia about cancellation?
Complete the cancellation checklist above, download the insurer’s current form and confirm the accepted submission method with Slavia. Cancelling insurance is not a new purchase.
